If re-seasoning is necessary: Clean the pan with hot water. Then rub it with a neutral-tasting vegetable oil (e.g., coconut oil). Place the pan upside down in the oven at 200°C (or better yet, outside in a hot charcoal grill) for one hour. Rub in any remaining oil. Done. Repeat this process regularly to fill the pores and optimally protect the pan from rust.

Information on cleaning/maintenance
Hot water is sufficient for cleaning – scrub off larger food residues with a brush. Never use soap or harsh detergents. These will destroy the seasoning, and the pan will then need to be re-seasoned (see above). Do not leave food scraps in the pan. Remove ash immediately after use, as it can otherwise promote rust when combined with moisture.

Information on storage
Grease with good cooking oil and place in kitchen paper.
